Alumnus Named One of 30 Most Admired Educators for 2014

Stephen Wischer, a Faculty of Environmental Design (EVDS) alum, and associate professor of architecture and landscape architecture at North Dakota State University (NDSU) in Fargo, has been named by DesignIntelligence as one of its 30 Most Admired Educators for 2014.

Yves Poitras wins Dialog Scholarship in Honour of Michael Evamy

Yves Poitras, a first-year architecture student from the Faculty of Environmental Design (EVDS), has been awarded the 2014 Dialog Scholarship in Honour of Michael Evamy. Yves is the first EVDS student to win this prestigious national award since its inception.

The Faculty of Environmental Design (EVDS) celebrates the excellence and creativity of its students in a new exhibition, Sustainability in the City, opening in the Kasian Gallery on Apr 2, 2014. The exhibition features the results of several field studies carried out in block week courses in the Netherlands over the last four years.

As part of EVDS' semester-long study abroad program, Master of Architecture candidate Gabriel Hernández Solano travelled to Barcelona, Spain, to document informal settlements and the resulting urban and spatial typologies, patterns, and consequences.

Books donated in support of landscape architecture program

The Faculty of Environmental Design has received a donation of 350 books on landscape architecture in anticipation of a possible Master of Landscape Architecture program. The donation comes to the university as an expression of support from Peter Jacobs, a professor at l'Université de Montréal, and a leading figure in landscape architecture education.

EVDS Assistant Professor Joins Global Faculty Program in Mexico

Professor Lee Helps Community Centre Re-open Its Doors

Edmonton’s McKernan Community Centre held its grand opening on Sunday, February 23. Over 140 families celebrated alongside government officials and community groups at the re-opening of the facility, which underwent significant reconstruction to address health and accessibility issues.
