- Senior Instructor
- Digital Design
BDI, MFA (Design)
My career in academe began in 1987 at the University of Quebec in Chicoutimi where I provided instruction in 2d and 3D design at the Faculté des Arts et Lettres. In 1989 I left that position to join the Faculty of Environmental Design at the University of Calgary.
Prior to and during my academic career I have achieved a delicate balance between Design, Art and Science. This was achieved by the multitude of Design studio I have offered, by my research activities in the area of product design, multimedia, by joining research team in environmental Design, Archaeology, Medicine, and computer science and finally by my supervision of the Barcelona Term Abroad Studies.
My scholarly and professional interests and activities focus on the evolving role of design in technology with particular focus on multimedia based and driven efforts. I broadly define multimedia as a methodology to achieve a clear and concise design idea by using tools such as computing (virtual environments) and rapid prototyping.
Students interested in core thematic areas in technological systems design with a background in Design related field including Art, should contact me to create an individual program of study to suit their needs and to establish a design intervention research base master thesis under my supervision.
