The orientation process for incoming students to EVDS has been called “Design Camp” since the inception of the Faculty over 40 years ago. Design Camp is a student-organized and faculty-supported tradition that expresses the history and vision of EVDS. Orientation is a required activity for a number of reasons, including: course registration, desk selection, campus familiarization, professor meet-and-greet, IT familiarization, program information, and team building. It is also the first point of contact preceding the start of courses in the fall term, and introduces the interdisciplinary focus of environmental design.
Orientation Week also plays an important role in enabling all incoming students to meet, discuss their interests and exchange ideas with each other and EVDS faculty members prior to the start of classes. Perhaps most importantly, lifelong friendships and professional connections have been made at Design Camp and will continue to be made this year!"
Design Camp kicks-off with an orientation session and Faculty introductions.
